Torrontes – A new love affair?

So recently whilst having a vino out with the BF. I stumbled upon a fabulous new variety of grape. Well obviously it’s not new, but it is to me. Its called Torrontes, it’s from Argentina. It’s an aromatic white wine, which seems incredibly unique. Its light like a Sauvignon Blanc, but the aroma hits you, hinting at something a little more powerful.

Mostly I am a red wine, champagne kind of girl, but some foods and times of year call for white wine. As a fan of Asian food, white is often the right choice and this sexy wine is a great compliment.

Here is the official Snooth description:
Torrontes is considered to be the flagship white wine of Argentina. The wines produced from Torrontes are very aromatic with intense floral aromas backed up by lemon and orange notes with hints of white peach. Unlike many aromatic varieties, Torrontes retains bright acidity at maturity.

Try it out and expand your wine horizons, here are a couple of suggestions:

Lorca Torrontes 2009 Mauricio Lorca £7.50
Estiba 1 Torrontes 2009 Bodegas Esmerelda, Mendoza £7
