Last night after recovering from a cold, I decided the perfect medicine would be a bottle of one of my favorite red’s. I doubt the doctor would agree with my course of action, but the soul definitely feels better after a warming glass of red.

I treated myself to a bottle of Cape Mentelle, Cabernet Merlot 2006. The wine is from the world-renowned Margret River region in Western Australia. The winery itself is incredibly beautiful and their beautiful wines can be found around the world.

The wine is an elegant blend of soft Merlot complimented by a strong and hearty Cabernet. The wine is smooth and easy to drink – this particular bottle is drinking perfectly now. It tastes of cherry and undertones of lavender.

It is £13.99 from Odd Bins, so a bit of a treat, but well worth every penny. A nice one to show off red meat dishes and compliment earthier pasta or anything from a smoky grill.
